Repairing Email Accounts in Outlook 2007, 2010 and 2013

  1. In Outlook, open the “File” ribbon menu, in the top-left.
  2. Click on “Account Settings”, then select “Account Settings…” from the dropdown list:
  3. In the “Account Settings” window that pops up, make sure your account is highlighted then click “Repair…” at the top of the window:
  4. Check your name and email address are listed correctly in the following window, then click “Next”:
  5. You should then be warned that Outlook needs to be restarted:
  6. Click “OK”, then “Finish”, then close and re-open Outlook. You may then see the following message. If so, just click “OK” to close it.
  7. Outlook may now be “Offline” – to fix this, select the “Send & Receive” ribbon menu and un-press “Work Offline”.
  8. This completes the Outlook repair process.
