Open an elevated Command Prompt

Hey, even simple tasks can be optimised.  Often we need to open an elevated command prompt in Windows 7/8 to perform administrative tasks that require elevation due to Windows UAC.  Save a few mouse-clicks and keystrokes like this:

  • Hit the windows key to access the start menu and type ‘cmd’
  • Press Ctrl+Shift+Enter to launch the elevated command prompt
  • Accept the UAC prompt

It’s not exactly ninja IT, but those saved seconds add up!
